You Can Travel To Sri Lanka Visa-Free

Starting October 1, 2024, Sri Lanka will offer free 30-day tourist visas to travellers from 35 countries for a six-month period.

What is visa free travel to Sri Lanka?

Visa-free travel refers to the ability to enter Sri Lanka without the need to obtain a visa beforehand. Travellers from certain countries are allowed to enter for a specified period without having to apply for a visa.

Visa-free travel simplifies international travel by reducing the administrative burden for travelers and can encourage tourism and business exchanges between countries.

Currently, tourists entering Sri Lanka since early August have been receiving visas on arrival at entry points. The future of the ETA or the reactivation of the e-Visa system remains uncertain, but further clarity is expected by October.
